” Many years ago this car passed me on the way to Harry’s on the A3. My Appia was shaking for miles after wards as the red B20 came by in a blur at 100 mph plus (before speed limits of course!).
When I arrived at Harry’s I asked him had he seen the red Aurelia and what was it, he said “Rome Liege car… Scott just left”.
I came by an old ‘Autocar’ article some years later, and as Harry said, Michael Scott owned the car at the time.
I recently went to Italy with Alan Wesson to meet Francesco Gandolfi at his car club’s meeting in Bassano del Grappa. We had gone there to look at his 820 in order to see what mine should look like – so helpful when you’re restoring a car to see an original car.
To my surprise, one of the first cars I saw was the self same Rome – Liege car, now beautifully restored by KCA. Alan said it would take six months to prepare the side of the car for painting to get that finish. “
