Our member Tim Carpenter, reports on the event.
“This was an excellently organised and managed event, the first major UK automotive gathering since March. A terrific display of exquisite vehicles of all sorts in front of a discerning crowd. Judging from the number of insightful questions I was asked about the car, my 1966 Unipower GT aroused a great deal of interest.
The GT was among a group of cars classified as the ‘Lost Marques’, companies that should not have disappeared but we have lost along the way. It included a diverse range of models including an AC Ace, a Bizzarrini P538 and concours class winner, a lovely 1964 Facel Vega.
It was a wonderful experience. I made a lots of new friends, let people sit in my car and enjoyed their smiles. It’s fabulous that the car was selected for display, a recognition of the pedigree of its design and engineering. As I describe it: “Chic and quick!”
