1962 AC Greyhound

This AC Greyhound is a rare and refined example of British craftsmanship—one of only 84 ever built.

Featuring lightweight aluminium bodywork (1,020 kg), this elegant classic has been carefully maintained and kept garaged throughout its life. It gained some fame by appearing in a Ralph Lauren catalogue and Classic & Sports Car magazine.

Mechanical Highlights:

  • Triumph 2.5L straight-six engine with 4-speed manual + overdrive

  • Regular maintenance, including annual oil/filter changes and gearbox/diff servicing

  • SU carburettors rebuilt by Enginuity (2014)

  • Brake system overhauled by Girling (2015)

  • Bare-metal respray by Brooklands Motor Company (2016)

  • Major mechanical refresh by Redline Classic Cars (2020): clutch, trunnions, track rod ends, bushes, bearings, and UJs

  • Modern reliability upgrades: Kenlowe cooling fan, high-torque starter motor (2021)

  • Front disc brakes

This Greyhound is finished in Gunmetal Grey, a rare and desirable colour that matches its original shade, and is paired with a Bordeaux leather interior. It rides on 15-inch AC Cobra wire wheels, with new tyres fitted in August 2023.

Interior features include:

  • A wood-rimmed steering wheel

  • Smiths gauges and clock

  • Tinted glass sun visors

  • Push-out front and rear quarter-light windows

  • Heater and ventilation controls

The car is also supplied with its original jack, spare wheel, and owner’s handbook.

A beautifully preserved example of a rare British grand tourer.
