About the MGC GT
Launched in 1967, the MGC GT was MG’s high-performance grand tourer, powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six engine.This particular example combines the charm and presence of a classic MGC GT with the practicality and refinement of thoughtful upgrades such as a 5-speed gearbox and Blaupunkt radio.
This MGC GT has benefited from a full restoration by MG Motorsport in 2013. The following was carried out:
Engine rebuild. Crankshaft reground and balanced with front damper, lightened flywheel and high-performance clutch cover (approx. 40-45% power & torque increase). All specified in the history file.
Ignition & Electrics. Standard distributor modified.
New SU electronic fuel pump.
Gearbox was fully rebuilt – has been upgraded to 5-speed gearbox since the restoration.
New brake discs, wheel cylinders and new calipers with reconditioned servo assistance. All new brake pipes and hoses.
Upgraded superflex poly bushes all round. Spax adjustable dampers and uprated torsion bars at the front. High ratio steering rack & pinion fitted.
Car completely re-shelled during restoration and painted in tartan red. New windscreen. All new bumpers and exterior chrome.
Rebuilt original leather reclining seats, new vinyl trim panels and carpeting. Instruments overhauled. Moto-Lita steering wheel installed.
A superbly restored and maintained classic that’s ready to be enjoyed.
